Avacha Bay, being one of the most beautiful and largest bays in Russia, is also considered a unique natural attraction of the Far East. The bay is located on the Pacific coast of the picturesque peninsula of Kamchatka. The width of the bay entrance is 3 km, depth - about 26 m. Inland Avacha bay leaves for about 20 km.

Hence the amazing views of the volcano Avacha, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and "Gates" - three rocks that rise out of the water and block the entrance to the bay, thus protecting the coast from the ravages of the tsunami. The second title of the rocks, which are a symbol of Avacha Bay - "Three Brothers". According to an ancient legend in these parts lived three brave young men who defended the inhabitants of the coast from imminent death in a huge tsunami, standing at the entrance to the bay, and shielding their bodies entering it.

During the storm, Avacha Bay and is protected haven for ships suitable here from around the Avacha Bay. Here they can wait out the bad weather and then go into the ocean. On the northwest side of the bay is fed by two major rivers - Paratunka Avacha and that at the confluence constitute the vast floodplain with multiple branches and islands.

Avacha Bay is very popular among fans of diving, boating and sea fishing.

Not far from the entrance to the bay, you can see a small piece of land called the island Starichkov. Stripped trees rocky islet busy birds. It was here, on the island of Starichkov inhabit the Bering colonies and red-faced cormorant, the Pacific and the spectacled guillemot, Pacific gulls, kittiwakes, common murre and Thick, and Horned puffins.
