St. Leonard - a village in the state of Tyrol, belongs to the district Imst. St. Leonard is situated in a narrow valley, the village and the village in which stretch for 25 km. The highest point is at an altitude of 3774 meters above sea level. Due to the height, the length from north to south, but also because of the steep slopes of the mountains, the climate in St. Leonhard quite severe. This area was founded around 1300, and its main source of income is tourism.

Saint-Leonard is the central village in the municipality. In the village there is the parish church built in 1891.

Nearby is a large lake Rifflsee in the winter laid tourist trails and tourist area in the summer is arranged to rest.

The Pitztal Glacier also attracts many tourists from all over Europe. In December 1983 we started working funicular railways rising from vysoty1720 meters to a height of 2840 meters. The maximum lifting speed is 43 km / h, the average travel time of 8 minutes. The tunnel, which employs funiculars, meets all modern safety standards: there is lighting, smoke detectors, fire alarms and video surveillance. Lifts are open from mid-September to early June of each year.

The development of tourism on the Pitztal glacier is constantly drawn criticism from environmentalists, but employs many residents of St. Leonard.
