Hofburg Imperial Palace

In 1453 on the orders of Archbishop Sigismund it was built Gothic castle. Later, Maximilian I expanded it. But the large-scale reconstruction of the building took place by decree of Empress Maria Theresa in 1755. It was redesigned facade and grand staircase, built out in the southern wing of the Baroque style, and the whole palace has been given a more modern at the time the classical form.

The interior of the princely palace in the style of Rococo. The most noteworthy giant hall, decorated with white and gilded moldings and ceiling painting depicting the triumph of the Habsburg-Lorraine house, which belonged to the couple of Emperors - Maria Theresa and Francis I. At the walls of the room hang portraits of a married couple and their 16 children.
