The building of the church of St. Margaret's dates back to around 1150, while the church consisted of a nave, south chapel and altar. At the end of the XII century chapel it was added to the north, and it is worth noting that the northern nave is not only higher, but also made more elegant than the south, even though they are made in one, the Roman-Norman architecture. Preserved two Norman windows, made at the same time - one in the chancel of the cathedral, the other - at the top of the south aisle. In the XIV century the southern nave was remade: have been added to the top of the window. In the XV century to the south of the altar was added Chapel of the Virgin Mary, and was attached to the tower. Two of the three church bells were made in the same century, and the third - a century later, in the XVI century. St Margaret's, Westminster underwent restoration in the second half of the XIX century - the works were carried out both within the church and outside. Northern nave was redone, and the windows were inserted modern stained-glass windows.
