House Provost Skins - historic house museum in Old Aberdeen, one of the city's tourist attractions ppulyarneyshih. Sir George tabernacle was one of Lord Provost (Mayor of) Aberdeen. Now the not so famous he or during his administration the city as his home built v1545 year and bought provost in 1669. It is one of the few living specimens of medieval architecture preserved in Aberdeen and is the oldest surviving house.

After Provost Skins owner of the house was the Duke of Cumberland, and even much later in the house was ustreona flophouse for the homeless. In 40-ies of XX century it was going to demolish the house, but the public protested against its destruction, and in 1951 began the restoration of the building, and in 1953 it opened a museum.

The rooms recreate the typical atmosphere XVII, XVIII and XIX centuries. Large hall, living room and bedroom of the XVII century in sharp contrast to the refined atmosphere of the XVIII century dining - fine china, elegant dishes and magnificent crystal chandelier. Living room of the XIX century - an excellent example of the situation Regency. Regularly alternating with exposure represent the history of costume.

Much attention is paid to the XVII century stucco ceilings and painted gallery, where the ceiling is covered with panels depicting religious scenes.
