Neusiedl am See - Austrian town located on the northern shore of the lake at an altitude of Noyzidlzee 133 meters above sea level in the state of Burgenland.
The first mention of the city dates back to 1209. In the mid-13th century it was destroyed by the Mongols, and by 1282 was called "Niusidel". In 1517 the city received the right to market and began to develop rapidly.
