Schwanenstadt - Austrian town, located in the federal state of Upper Austria, is part of the county Vöcklabruck. The history of these lands goes back to the Celts, who founded a settlement called Tergolape («small market on the water") at the site of modern schwanenstadt. The first documented mention of the town was made in 788 year. In the following centuries schwanenstadt becomes an economic, cultural, sports and educational center.

The town was occupied repeatedly during the Napoleonic Wars. Since 1918 schwanenstadt became part of Upper Austria.

Currently, the city has two kindergartens, one primary school, sports and music schools. In 2006 it began the construction of a bypass road, which will be connected to the A1 motorway, located 8 kilometers from the city.

In the city center there are several beautiful mansions built in the Baroque and Renaissance. Many buildings were destroyed by the fires, which have repeatedly occurred in schwanenstadt. One of the main attractions is the town hall, its beautiful courtyard and located in the walls of her museum. Before the town hall is a well of the 13th century.

The Roman Catholic parish church, built in neo-Gothic style in the early 20th century, the bell tower has a height of 78 meters, which is visible from almost any point of the city. The spire of the church is a symbol of schwanenstadt. The church kept late Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary, the relief of the 15th century "Tribulation Christ" and statues of the apostles of the 18th century in baroque style.
