Cheverny Castle was built by Jacques Yuro - Intendant of Louis XII - in 1490 on the site of an old mill. His descendant Henry Yuro demolished old buildings, linking him with unpleasant memories of the infidelity of his first wife, and began construction of a new building.
Cheverny - the first house of the XVII century in a style that was later called a classic. The material served as the local white sandstone. Facade of the castle had not been restored to 1634.
The castle preserved ancient interiors and furniture, as for several centuries the castle had one and the same family. The Armoury Hall - the largest in the castle - a collection put armor and weapons. The Tapestry Hall you can see the masterpieces made from drawings by David Tene. Trophy adorn two thousand antlers, mounted in the walls and ceiling.
Hunting in Cheverny passes in winter, twice a week. Kennel - another attraction of this castle. There are more than 70 dogs.
