Manor Drutsk-Lyubetsky Shchuchin in the city - a monument of architecture of the XIX century, the Baroque and classicism.
The original palace was built in the XVIII century for the family Scipio del Kapmo. In 1807, Prince Francis Xavier Drutsk-Lyubetsky married his 14-year-old niece of the Countess Maria Scipio del Campo. Drutsk-Lyubetsky was a representative of one of the noblest of the Belarusian princely families. In later years, he became the Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Poland and the governor of Vilna province, participated in the campaigns of Suvorov in Italy and Switzerland.
One-time Drutsk Lyubetsky was ambassador to France. This country fascinated him, and he wanted to build a palace, like the ones he saw at home. After a concussion Francis Xavier retired and settled in an estate in Shchuchyn.
In the XIX century the palace was rebuilt by order of Prince Drutsk-Lyubetskii architect Tadeusz Rastvorovskim modeled after the Petit Trianon at Versailles, the beautiful park surrounding it.
Family-Drutsk Lyubetsky palace belonged until 1939. During World War II the Germans had set up in the palace hospital, so it almost hurt. After the war, the garrison was Shchuchyn flying units, and the palace became the home of the officers. After the collapse of the USSR military unit was taken out of Schuchin and useless magnificent palace began to deteriorate rapidly.
In 2011, the restoration of the palace. It decided to refer to the district department of education for the needs of the younger generation Schuchin. Now the palace is under restoration, scheduled for completion in 2013.
