Říp Mountain - a legendary hill, revered by all Czechs as the place where they began their land. His outline of the mountain resembles an inverted table and is especially beautiful at sunset. However, travelers climb on it at any time, since it is considered to be a place where every citizen should visit the Czech Republic at least once in life. Tourists are not far behind from the locals, trying to see where he visited the father of all Czechs.
According to local legend, the Czech climbed here with the people who followed him and trust him completely. He looked around the neighborhood and was very pleased. Before him stretched a land rich in fish and game, forests and fields, fertile soils and sonorous streams, flowing rivers, and high mountains. This is the place, I decided to Cech, where his people would be easy to build your future life, raise children, to plan ahead. Then he spoke to his men and encouraged them to develop new space, which he called "the promised land".
Over time, on Mount Říp in memory of those events it was built a small chapel of St. George, where every traveler can offer up thanks to God for such a generous gift, the Czech Republic as a country. This Bohemian hill became a place of worship and a true symbol of Czech statehood. It was mentioned in the works of writers and poets who fought for the revival of Czech culture and identity.
These days you can climb the mountain Říp yourself, but you can ask for accompaniment to numerous travel agencies.
