In the most northern part of Lake Ladoga is Kirjavalahti Bay. In the Russian language is the name translates as "colorful". And indeed the water in the bay from the height of the surrounding rock is full of reflections and shimmers. In the 1930s, here, among the highest coastal cliffs, the Finns had built a road to the village Rautalahti. Construction was difficult, because it was accompanied by the mining operations on the steep granite cliffs. Here among the rocks a little later Villa was built Yaskelyaynena pharmacist.

Rantala Barton called her earlier, when it belonged to the owner of the pharmacy "Karelia" Tauno Yaskelyaynenu in Helsinki. This manor house is located in Sortavala region in the direction of the town of Sortavala to Petrozavodsk. This architectural monument of the 20th century is the last point in the route "The Blue Highway". The house was built under a rock, on top of which are forest lakes. This building was created in the style of functionalism and national romanticism. It blends into the natural landscape and creates an impression of strength and comfort. Looking at the cottage from the bay you can see only the front facade and part of the side, the main part of construction hides pine trees. The main facade of the garden is not proportional, since the left-hand side on the first floor there is a veranda and terrace on the second floor. Another interesting interior of the building, its main attraction is the dining room. The room is decorated in a log hut with beamed ceilings, walls of which are made of large black timber. Preserved ancient fireplace in the guest room and a large staircase to the second floor.

In 1947, by order of People's Commissars of the building was transferred to the Union of Composers in unpaid rent, but it remained in state ownership. Among them were well-known Soviet composers: Shchedrin, Svetlanov, Soloviev-Gray and many others. Here famous work was created, which became an anthem in Karelia - "For a long time there will be Karelia dreams ...". In 90 years in the division of property of the Russian Federation on the federal, regional and municipal, the house became the property of the composers of the Republic of Karelia.

Now Villa pharmacist Yaskelyaynena protected as cultural heritage sites recognized historical monument and is registered with the Republican center. And it continues to provide the gratuitous use of the Union of Composers.

The second floor is occupied by a hotel.
