National Museum of Ras al Khaimah is located at the fort of the XVIII century. Al Husen - is one of the cultural attractions of the emirate. Fort is located behind the police headquarters and is considered an integral part of the Old Town, which previously housed the family home in Ras Al Khaimah. The signing of the walls of the building in 1820 of a peace treaty between the sheikhs of the Persian Gulf and the British government, brought him historically known.

Fort served as a reliable protection. Although it was used for defense purposes it is very rare. In 1987, the ruler of the emirate, Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi signed a decree on the basis of the territory of the National Museum of the fort.

Fort Museum consists of several sections. The most valuable historical artifacts are sections at the top of the building. The lower part of the museum took various historical artifacts found by archaeologists in the lands of the emirate. Here visitors can see an amazing collection of ethnological and archaeological finds, including jewelery, traditional household items and other valuable exhibits: unique manuscripts, historical documents and others. Particularly popular with visitors to the National Museum of Ras al-Khaimah, a collection of things that used to be belonged to the pirates: swords and daggers, guns with pirate ships, costumes and muskets.

The building of the National Museum, with its watchtowers, curved staircases, spacious terraces and a large yard is also considered an architectural landmark and the basic principles of the fortress of Arab architecture, developed over many centuries. To protect museum exhibits against the sun and the sand, the yard closed special vaulted design.
