The purpose of the Battle of Inkerman was this: it was necessary to disrupt the assault on Sevastopol and force the enemy to withdraw surroundings. Russian troops of 19 thousand. After the battle in the Crimea on the battlefield by the British in 1856 a monument was erected, on which is carved: "In memory of Russian, French and English, the fallen in the battle of Inkerman October 24, 1854.". The monument was renovated in 1875. He was on the verge of destruction in the twentieth century in the 30s. After the war of 1941-1945. there was only a part of the plinth, which was sent to the stone crushing plant in Kerch, taking her marbles. But to discover that it's just the limestone, passed in the Kerch Reserve historical and cultural values.

The monument, which is set now, the sculptor tried as close to the original. This four-meter tall pyramid of 4 to 15 meters, the center of which is an equilateral cross with a Greek inscription, which was in the original: "In memory of Russian, French and English, the fallen in the battle of Inkerman 24.10. (November 5) 1854 ".

The fence, which is built around a restored monument, made of stone, white marble slabs engraved inscription: "In memory of the 16 thousand Russian, British and French soldiers, generals and officers who fell in the battles near Inkerman 10/24/54, with the attempt of the Russian army Sevastopol unlock "- on the right, and exactly the same inscription in English - on the left.

In the second step of the pedestal of the monument bears even one additional inscription: "Erected army of British soldiers in 1856, destroyed by the army of German soldiers in 1942, has been restored by citizens of Sevastopol in 2004."

Opening of the monument took place on 31.10.2004 year, at the opening ceremony of the monument was the British delegation, attended the descendants of the soldiers of the Crimean War.
