October 2, 1896 at the intersection of St. Nicholas (now the street. Radishcheva) and Big Sergius (now Chernyshevskogo str.) Opened the doors of the new building midwifery school. Before that it was located in a house on the street A.V.Chirihinoy. Moscow. The building was built specifically for the medical school project A.M.Salko city architect and is considered the oldest medical school in Saratov region. The institution Anna Chirikhin were made wrought-iron balconies and front staircase inside the building.

In the eighteenth century, few could boast of qualified specialists in the field of obstetrics, in Russia this profession replaced midwife ("Bereguinias"). The situation began to change in the late nineteenth century, after the discovery of midwife schools and maternity wards. Saratov paramedic school was one of the first.

In 1909, the school building was the base of the Saratov State University as a part of only one medical faculty and was called then "Nicholas Imperial University", which existed in the building of the medical assistant until 1913 (the year of the opening of the building of SSU). Director of the entire school building became the first health officer of Russia - I.I.Molleson.

Since the foundation of the building renamed six times in connection with the change in the profile of training, but remained faithful to traditional medical and midwifery.

Now the building of the Saratov regional base medical college (abbreviated SOBMK) after more than a hundred years left in its original form, both in architecture and in the mission of the institution.
