Park "sticky" - one of the oldest and most beautiful places in Saratov, laid the foundation for the modern city center. Bookmark the garden was started in 1825 to finish building around the Alexander Nevski Cathedral. After dropping off more than a thousand limes seedlings and garden wooden fence, the park was named "Alexander Boulevard," and the common people affectionately - "sticky". And although the garden gate was a sign "input lower ranks and dogs vospreschёn" alley of the park became a favorite place for people of different social classes.

From 1850 to 1860 under the leadership of mayor Maslennikov in the park were comfortable gazebos, benches, installed lighting oil lamps and were paved walkways and flowerbeds.

Limes name as citizens have taken to heart that in 1876 approved the official name of the park - Limes.

In 1908, in the workshops of the Alexander vocational school we have made wrought iron fence on sketches by artist S.Chehonina in ornament including stamp Sturgeon fish (today restored and exhibited in the central fountain of the park). In the years 1906-1909 kerosene lighting in the park has been replaced by electric. In the 1930s, after the demolition of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the resulting vacant lot was given to the construction of the stadium "Dynamo".

Since 1995, the Limes Park has the status of a historical and cultural heritage of federal importance. In 2004, on the anniversary of the park it was laid a memorial stone fountain and earned glass globe.

Now Limes to the delight of children and parents running children's playground with attractions. You can sit in a cozy cafe and a breath of fresh air on forged antique benches. There is also a library with reading room, and chess club.
