Grand Hotel Rimini - is a luxurious five-star hotel, famous throughout the world for his great tenant - director Federico Fellini. This, incidentally, is the only hotel in Rimini this level, and the only hotel on the coast, which owns its own private beach. That's what makes it an incredibly popular in the summer months.

The hotel was designed by the South American architect Paolo Somatstsi, and the grand opening took place in July 1908. In 1920 a serious fire destroyed the two decorative domes which adorned the roof - it was subsequently decided not to restore them. Also, considerable damage was inflicted in the building during the Second World War, but in 1950 it was completely renovated. In 1994, the «Grand Hotel» was declared a national monument of Italy, which is under protection of the Department of Fine Arts. Adjacent to the hotel is a conference center, built in 1992 and equipped with the latest technology.

Today «Grand Hotel» attracts tourists with its splendid architecture in the classical style. Its rooms are decorated with objects of French and Venetian antiques of the 18th century. Special care was restored wooden floors and Venetian chandeliers. All interior of the hotel with its furniture, paintings, lighting equipment recreates the atmosphere of the past.

World famous «Grand Hotel» was due to the great Italian director Federico Fellini and his films. As a child from a poor family of Rimini, Fellini often admiringly stared at the building of the hotel, his nose pressed against the fence and imagining its rich inhabitants. It is these children's dreams later inspired him to create the greatest films in cinema history. In particular, «Grand Hotel» can be seen in the film "Amarcord" - his background is mainly pictures of the scene.

Fellini himself liked to stay at the hotel and always chose the same number. It was in this room with the director suffered a heart attack which, in turn, was the cause of his death. Today in the Fellini room to stay by prior arrangement.
