For his summer residence of the family of aristocrats Kinsky chose a good place - near the center of Prague, on the green Petrin hill, where there is bliss and peace, and which does not reach the noise of the big city.
The site for the future of the villa was bought in 1799. Then the princes Kinský started creating the garden, which they conceived, was to surround the summer residence.
Two-storey villa in the Empire style was built in impressively short period - 5 years (1827-1831.). The building looks very impressive and dignified, its facade is decorated with Doric columns, underlining the severity of registration of the property. On the roof terrace of the first floor is created, in which home owners arranged tea.
In parallel with the master's house built stables (Kinski were known breeding sporting breeds), outbuildings, greenhouses.
At present, the villa is not empty. It is a branch of the National Museum, where the exhibition is shown under the name Musaion. It is dedicated to the Czech national culture, so here you can see the old clothes, furniture, works of folk art, household items, kitchenware. On the ground floor there are workshops where visitors shows how to create one or other household items.
There is also a room where all year demonstrated Christmas attributes, including dens.
On certain days in a villa holidays are held in traditional style, are the musical groups performing folk songs, hosts various exhibitions.
