Pleven - a city in northern Bulgaria. There are several art galleries, and one of the most interesting and famous art gallery is Svetlin Rusev ("Svetlin Rusev collection of donations"). This famous Bulgarian artist, painter, cultural activist and art collector who was born in Pleven and lived here a long time.

Rusev was a teacher at the Sofia National Academy of Arts, as well as director of the State Art Gallery, chaired the Union of Bulgarian Artists for many years. Svetlin Rusev in 1985 gave hometown extensive collection of Bulgarian art, classical and modern, as well as African and Oriental. This foundation and laid the foundation for a permanent gallery, named in honor of the donor. The "Collections donations" today contains more than four hundred of the most valuable copies - of paintings and sculptures, gathered Rusev over the years.

The gallery is located in a building in the early 20th century, it was designed by the famous Bulgarian architect Nikola Lazarov and serve the public baths. This structure with elements of the Moorish style of architecture as a cultural monument.

On the first floor of the gallery exhibited paintings of famous artists of the 20th century in Bulgaria (its first half), among them - Vladimir Dimitrov-Maystora, Bencho Obreshkov, Tsanko Lavrenov, Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, Kiril Petrov, Sirak Skitnik, Dechko Uzunov and others.

The second floor is mainly set aside contemporary artists in Bulgaria, there are demonstrations of Vesa Vasileva, Nikola Manev, Georgi Bozhilov, Encho Pironkov. In addition, there is a representative of the Vienna Secession painting by Josef Bauer and work of an unknown French artist of the 17th century.

At the third level, which is located in the tower of the old baths, exhibits works of Bulgarian engravers - Sidonia Atanasova, Elijah Beshkova, Vladimir Dimitrov-Maystora. Also, there are paintings of famous international artists, including Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso, Honore Daumier, Maurice Denis, Marc Chagall, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Renato Guttuso, Eugene Delacroix, Salvador Dali. In addition, you can see sculptures by Edgar Degas and Auguste Rodin.
