Governor's Park is a monument of landscape architecture and is located on Lenin Square and the Avenue of Karl Marx in Petrozavodsk. Walter Soyini treated the erection of the monument as an act of symbolic return of Russian history, because some time ago in Petrozavodsk has been a monument to the great poet, but it was demolished under Stalin. The new project was a result of living in the city administration of the competition, but initially it was assumed that the production of the monument will take place in Finland.

Near the entrance to the park found its place an open exposition area of ​​the museum.
