Church of San Nicolas de Tolentino, built in the first half of the 19th century was of brick, is considered one of the most beautiful churches in the Philippines. It is also known as the Church of Cabatuan, as it is located in this small town in the province of Iloilo. In addition, a huge structure in the neoclassical style - the only surviving church here with three facades. Her twin bell towers, domes topped with a cream-colored, well-known across the country.

Construction of the church was led by the parish priest father Ramon Alkezara Cabatuan. Due to the lack of building materials, he decided to build a church out of red bricks - so the city appeared brick production. Intricate patterns of church interiors were designed by Manuel father Gutteresom. The final construction was completed in 1866, after which it began to conduct services.

During the Spanish colonization of the church of San Nicolas de Tolentino called "model church" because it was the best example of European architecture in the Philippine archipelago. In 1948, the church was partially destroyed in the earthquake - collapsed four bell towers, the two gable on the facade and a central dome. Only in 1990 the building was completely restored to its splendor. Today it is one of the most beautiful churches in the whole of Asia.
