Surroundings Olomouc no less interesting than himself. 20 km from the city you can find a small town Czechs pod Kosirzhem, famous for its magnificent castle of the same name. The fortress was built before 1359, when the first mention of her local chroniclers. If you get a grasp of their records, it is possible to imagine a powerful, austere castle built to protect the local population from the attacks of the enemy, and not for the pampered life. During one of the attacks of the enemy stronghold was destroyed. It was restored in 1583 thanks to the efforts of the Duke Hartunkova. He made sure that the newly rebuilt castle more like a palace, rather than a fortified structure.
At the beginning of the XVIII century, the castle was subject to major reconstruction, which was the result of its reconstruction in the Baroque style. I must say that for its long history of Czechs Palace pod Kosirzhem replaced a lot of the owners who bring something different in his appearance and reworked it for their own convenience. The most famous owner of the castle were the representatives of a noble family from Portugal Silva Tarukka. It is this family gave the castle Empire-style view of the 1839-1846 years. She owned the local castle to the end of the Second World War. Many Silva Tarukka found their last resting place in the family vault, located in the castle park. There is an observation deck, and an artificial grotto.
In the castle, now converted into a museum, you can see a small collection of paintings by the famous Czech painter Josef Manes, who often visited the home of the castle.
