Church of Saint George in the town of Kavarna - the oldest building in the city, belonging to the era of the Bulgarian Revival. According to an inscription carved in stone over the southern gate, the temple was built in 1836.
As a result of Kavarna uprising in 1877, when there was a struggle for the liberation of the local people in the city there was a fire. Due to the fire damaged the church of St. George. At the end of the XIX century building was restored, at the northwest corner for him was a tower and along the western and southern wall was built a porch. Currently, the temple is a small rectangular building with a porch. The open bell tower with a cupola - an element of the Church's traditional Bulgarian architecture.
By decision of the local authorities, St. George was declared the patron saint of Kavarna. In honor of this saint was called and the Orthodox Church in the city.
In the main room of the temple with a semi ceiling is the altar. Along the walls are drawn rows of icons, which depict scenes from the Holy Scriptures.
