Kavarna - Bulgarian town on the Black Sea coast, which has a rich history. Like other cities in Bulgaria, it did not escape the fate of being enslaved by the Ottoman conquerors who settled here in the 15th century. The Turks built in the city a lot of public buildings, one of which is Turkish bath (hammam). Such baths continue the tradition of the ancient Roman baths: it's spacious rooms, which are heated by a large boiler, the steam is fed into the bath through a hole in the wall. The social importance of the hammam is difficult to overestimate, it is a kind of center of city life. It shared the news, make important decisions, and often celebrated and had fun.
Today Kavarna Turkish baths, built in the 15th century, is not used for its intended purpose. This stone massive rectangular building with a dome was completely renovated. Restored heating and plumbing systems. Turkish baths building is a monument of history and architecture.
Today, in the Turkish baths opened Maritime Museum. Constantly working exhibition, which tells about the history of shipping in the area, called the "Dobrudzha and the Sea". On display are archaeological finds - the ancient stone anchors, a collection of ancient gold coins, amphorae and other ceramics, ancient Thracian treasure of gold and other precious artifacts raised from the seabed. Also, the museum presents objects of everyday life and culture of the main groups of the local population - dobrudzhantsev, Gagauz and Kotlentsi.
Next to the building of Turkish baths is another interesting museum of Kavarna - historical.
