The building is newly renovated Municipal Theatre was built in 1899. The three-storey building accommodates eighteen hundred spectators. The theater was built in the French colonial style, with space ventilation and modern sound and lighting systems. For 20 years (since 1955) there were meetings of the National Assembly of South Vietnam.

Now the theater hosts various cultural events: concerts, festivals, theater and dance performances.
