Old Town Hall was built in the XV century, but was partially destroyed and replaced by a building of the XIX century in the style of Italian romanticism. However, as a result of restoration work, the building returned to the historical appearance. Of particular value are the gable of the building, decorated with Gothic phial and stucco frieze, which shows portraits of princes and the family coat of arms, as well as paintings of medieval folk games.

Over Hanover impressive building dominates the New Town Hall in baroque style, built in 1901-1913, respectively. The building was erected on the shores of an artificial lake, and is based on 3026 beech piles. Numerous bas-reliefs decorating the town hall depict scenes from the history of the city. The meeting room is kept a huge painting of Ferdinand Hodler "Unity", depicting the city of Protestantism adoption in 1533. The unique sloping lift takes tourists to the dome of City Hall, the viewing platform offers a splendid view of the city.
