Strobl - Austrian city located in the province of Salzburg on the border with Upper Austria. The city is located on the eastern side of the lake Volfganzee in the resort region near St. Gilgen.

The famous town of St. Wolfgang is located within walking distance of Strobl, conducted the general tour, which includes the plateau Postalm and Schafberg (1783 meters above sea level), which can be reached by cog railway. The area is popular for hiking and water sports in the summer, skiing in winter.

Strobl is gradually becoming more and more popular holiday destination. In the XIX-XX centuries there were regularly held events for aristocracy and bourgeoisie during their summer stay in Bad Ishl.Posle World War II, the city was in the American occupation zone.

In Strobl is late baroque church of St. Sigismund, which buried Prince Tassilo von Furstenberg.

Every year in August the city hosts polo tournament.
