Pelion is considered one of the most beautiful places in Greece. In fact, it is a ridge, forming a small peninsula in a remarkably scenic location between Pagassiyskim Gulf and the Aegean Sea. Over the past decade, the region has become a very popular tourist destination. Coastal resorts with well-developed infrastructure and excellent beaches, snow-capped peaks of Pelion and its picturesque slopes covered with thick vegetation, picturesque mountain villages, as well as many interesting attractions each year attracts more and more tourists from all over the world.

The most popular Pelion and skiing. Here, at an altitude of 1500 m above sea level, about 27 km from Volos (the capital of the nome of Magnesia) and 2 km from Chania is famous Greek resort of Agriolefkes. It was founded in 1967 and is one of the oldest ski resorts in Greece.

Agriolefkes has four main routes (red) route for beginners (green), and cross-country trails, 5 km long. The center is equipped with five different modern lifts (including children) that are fully consistent with current European standards. In the rental, you can rent the necessary special equipment and qualified trainers to help you learn skiing and snowboarding (offers both group and private lessons).

Given that the hotels located here are simply unable to accept all comers, should take care of booking in advance. However, it is possible to stay in a nearby Chania or in the nearby Mokrinitse and Portaria. The center also has restaurants, cafes, a medical center, a meteorological station, an observatory and three car parks with a capacity of more than 800 cars.

As a ski resort Agriolefkes runs from early December until the end of March. During the summer period there are very popular sports such as mountain biking, horseback riding, mountain climbing, etc.
