The small coastal town Karavostasi is the main harbor of the island of Folegandros and one of its three main towns. This picturesque resort village with typical Cycladic architecture - white houses with doors and shutters painted traditionally blue paint, and winds between the narrow streets.

In recent years, the tourist infrastructure of the city has undergone a significant change for the better thanks to the influx of tourists. Today Karavostasi you will find a good choice of comfortable hotels and excellent apartments, as well as many cozy restaurants, taverns and cafes where you can enjoy excellent local cuisine. In addition to the town beach is worth a visit in the vicinity of beautiful beaches Karavostasi Ward, Livadi (with camping) and Cathergen.

In about 3-4 km from Karavostasi on a rocky cliff is the capital of the island - Chora (aka Folegandros), which is certainly worth visiting the historical part - a medieval Venetian fortress Castro. Just above Chora on the hillside it is one of the main attractions of the island - the church of the Virgin. Climbing up the hill to the top, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the coast.

In summer, access to the island is quite simple, as there is a regular ferry service from Karavostasi port of Piraeus and the other islands of the Cyclades. If you decide to visit Folegandros in the offseason, it should be noted that in this period the ferry goes 2-3 times a week. The local harbor is also permanently moored numerous fishing boats, yachts and boats. Here you can rent a boat and visit the most secluded places of the island, including the famous golden island cave with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites.
