The main entrance to the Medical Park of Yessentuki decorates the oldest stone building of the resort - № 17. Gallery source material for the construction of the building were brought from Alikonovskogo Gorge and Mount Mashuk. The author of the project was invited to Essentuki MS Vorontsov architect S. Upton. Completion of drinking gallery dated 1858
The one-storey building of the gallery was made in the English Gothic style with Moorish elements, meant for walking and recreation summer visitors while receiving water from the mineral springs. The front of the building resembles an Elizabethan gallery, located in Pyatigorsk. Bottling of mineral water was produced in the eastern part of the gallery. After some time, a gallery built a new building, which has a summer reading room, a post office and a snack bar.
In 1873 the Urals was brought and installed near the cast-iron openwork gallery gazebo, which was used as a source of well-room summer. Today gazebo closed, but despite this, it is the main decoration of the site and architectural monument. Me and the interior of the gallery: in wall niches were installed copies of antique sculptures - Flora, Fortune, Aphrodite, Venus, and the Amazon. Greatly changed the appearance of the gallery, when she in 1901 was attached to the building of the Theatre Park, resulting in the structure lost its lightness and elegance.
In 1926, the gallery was placed in the center of the source of pump room № 17. Drinking gallery and today performs its main function, while still being one of the most beautiful galleries of its kind in the Caucasian Mineral Waters.
Each year the gallery is visited by thousands of people - and the local townspeople and tourists. Mineral water from the spring №17 is the most famous medicinal water of Russia. This chloride-bicarbonate-sodium water is recommended for the treatment of many diseases. Drink the healing water at the site is completely free, with all those who wish to draw water in a bottle and take it with you, will have to pay.
