Cape Aya is located on the southern coast of Crimea, in 8 km from Balaklava, and 20 km from Sevastopol. The name of the cape has received from the Greek word "Agios", which means - "the holy."

Cape Aya - a steep ledge of the main ridge of the Crimean Mountains, which stretches to the base of Mount Kush-Kaya (Bird Mountain). The highest point is Mount Cape Kokiya Kiya (altitude 558 m). To the east of the cape is Laspi Bay, Cape Balaclava and Batiliman tract. West at the foot of fortress and ascetics is a small bay, and then - Cape George.

Cape Aya is formed from rocks piled Upper Jurassic marble-like limestone. At the foot of the cape there are several caves, some of which was used in ancient times, the sailors of the Black Sea Fleet to adjust zeroing and naval guns.

On the slopes of Cape Aya relict Mediterranean woodlands. In general, flora Cape has about 500 species of plants, many of them listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. Amazing beauty of this wild corner of nature give endemic Stankevich pine forest. They are covered with dark green long needles and huge single cones. On the Crimean peninsula in the form of natural woodland pine Stankevich can only be found at Cape Aya and the reserve of the New World. Another important representative of the green world is a relic juniper Cape High. The age of these big, strong trees with dense, iskruchennymi trunks can reach up to 4 thousand. Years.

Cape Aya - a reserve of rarities. It is home to endangered and rare species. At the top of the cape is a giant crater with a beautiful cover of huge stones of different colors and shades: green, blue, red, speckled the dark and light stripes.
