Museum of the History of Buddhism in Kalmykia's capital Elista is a subdivision of the National Museum. N.N.Palmova. The museum is located on the ground level, perhaps the most famous sights of the city - a Buddhist temple (khurul) "Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni."

Most of the museum's exhibition is devoted to photographs, valuable documents, works of art, ancient and modern iconic objects, including Buddhist mystical masks that were used in the dance Tsam mystery. The halls are also thematic stands, revealing the history of Buddhism in Kalmykia and major milestones in the history of the temple.
