Villa Isola - building in Art Deco style, which is located in the northern part of Bandung, the provincial capital of West Java. This multi-million metropolis is the capital of West Java province, which is located on the island of Java. Java Island is a part of Indonesia, and West Java Province in the west bordering the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta.
The history of the city of Bandung begins in the XV century, but according to some sources, as well as on the archaeological finds, the city already existed in prehistoric times. At the end of the XIX century the city became a popular resort where wealthy Europeans came to rest. Then it began the construction of mansions and palaces in the Art Deco style, which today serve as a reminder of those times.
Villa Isola is one of the unique architectural decorations of the city, the villa offers breathtaking views of Bandung. This building was built in 1933. Construction lasted only six months, which was fast enough for that period. Construction work in charge of Dutch architect Charles Wolf Shemaker, who is the author of several buildings in the Art Deco style in the city of Bandung.
The villa consists of three floors and combines Indian and European architectural styles. Circle is the main theme in the architecture of the building, both inside and outside. Just inside the villas are two gardens at different levels. The building was built for the Dutch media mogul William Berret Dominic, founder of the press agency "Aneta" and was to be his residence, but later, when Dominique Beretti William died, the building was converted into a hotel. Also in this building it is the management of the University of Indonesia.
