The name of the island Sanginerskie (or Sanginskie) gained thanks to its picturesque sight at sunset. The islands are composed nature of pink porphyry, at the end of the day become rich red hue, and so they became known as Bloody (in French sang, sanguine - blood). Gossip also attributes a large number of islands spilled blood on them, particularly during the Corsican vendetta - a local custom of blood vengeance.

Sanguinaires - a small archipelago of four islands near Corsica, in a small bay on the west coast. The closest town to them - Ajaccio.

On the ground Sanginerskih islands tourists may seem that they are in a deserted place with pristine nature, unspoiled by human presence. In fact, the first man landed on the Sanguinaires in the XVI century. In the XIX century writer Alphonse Daudet, who lived on the largest island of the archipelago Mezamare wrote "Letters from my mill" - a work in which the description of the intertwined lives of ordinary people and the nature of southern France, as well as the local folklore. Currently, one of the islands is a lighthouse, and on the other - watch towers.

Sanguinaires enjoy not only the people but also the birds - is home to rare species and sea birds live on the islands of whole colonies to nest and breed. Therefore, on the Sanguinaires but travelers still come and ornithologists.

To enjoy the beauty of the islands Sanginerskih, you can watch the sunset on the Sanguinaires with an observation tower located on the Cape La Paraty pass along the islands by yacht or rent a boat and explore the island to dedicate a few hours or a whole day.
