Monument Mari poet and film star Kirill Ivanovich Ivanov (stage persona - Yyvan Kyrlya) was established November 2, 2009 in front of the train station. The bronze monument depicts Kyrlya in the image of Mustafa from the film "Road to Life", while riding on the trolley.
In 1932, after the first Soviet sound film, triumphantly held in 107 countries around the world, a young talented actor talking all. Yyvan Kyrlya as homeless leader Mustafa nicknamed "Firth" became a national favorite and first Mari actor acquired such immense popularity. But unlike kinogeroya Yyvana have not fate, and in 1937 the actor Mari State Drama Theatre Yoshkar-Ola arrested, attributing part in counter-revolutionary group. In 1943 Yyvan Kyrlya died in a Soviet concentration camp.
The idea of creating a monument in the homeland actor came with the approaching centenary Yyvan Kyrlya. The authors are two unusual compositions Mari sculptor Anatoly and Sergei Yanduboev Shirnin. The intention of the authors - a symbol of the way we choose for yourself: the film's hero fought and died, but remained in the memory of the bright, incredibly charming and cheerful character.
Yvan Kyrlya monument - the first sights seen by the guest of Yoshkar-Ola, leaving a railway station platform. The monument captures not only the story of the once popular film, but also part of the history of the Mari people.
