Skyscraper "Central Park" - a 51-storey office building in Perth. The height of a skyscraper - 226 meters from the ground to the roof, and with a communication antenna - all 249 meters. It is the tallest building in Perth and the ninth highest in Australia.

Approval of the design of the building was quite controversial: the height of the skyscraper more than twice the permissible for this place. The building itself is constructed from multi-layer steel on a concrete frame with multiple ledges of the facade - the upper floors on the area much less lower. Side supports on the top of the building and on the ledges increase its resistance to strong winds, which are frequent in the region. At the foot of a small park, which gave the name of the skyscraper.

Since the beginning of the 1930s, this place was a department store "Foy End Gibson", known the locals simply as "Foyz" and later renamed "David Jones". By the end of 1970 the network owned department store, it has gone from the market of Western Australia, and in a few years, the building store idle. In 1985 the land was purchased by «Central park Developments», which announced the reconstruction of the area of 1, 5 hectares. It was assumed that there will be built 45-storey office building, underground parking, park and shop. As early as October 1986, the height of the planned buildings increased to 47 floors. Most problems are caused by the project of construction of underground parking: by the decision of the City Council of Perth in this part of the city could be located only 300 cars, so as not to create traffic. But the project was announced in 1175 the creation of parking spaces.

Construction of the skyscraper began in 1988 and ended after 4 years of the establishment of a communications antenna. The first tenants occupied their offices in May 1992, six months later the park was opened. Construction of the largest in the city center office at a cost of $ 186, 5 million.
