Twelfth in Thailand Erawan National Park was established in June 1975. It occupies a large area of 550 square kilometers, most of whom are limestone mountains. Their maximum height - 996 meters above sea level.

Three-quarters of the park occupied by deciduous forests. Fauna Park Erawan pleases its diversity: with sufficient diligence in the expanses of forest you can meet elephants, gibbons, Siamese hare, macaques, langurs, flying squirrels, eagles, king cobra and python. In the waters of the park Erawan in great abundance are fish, crabs and amphibians.

The main attraction of the national park - seven-tier waterfall Erawan with incredibly clear water. Its name comes from the three-headed elephant Erawan from Hindu mythology, who is the earthly incarnation of the god Indra on the ground. Each of the tiers of the waterfall forms a separate pool with turquoise waters and incredibly beautiful water cascades. This color of the water in the waterfalls of Southeast Asia still occurs only in one place: Kuang Si waterfall in Laos.

Visit Erawan possible with sufficient comfort. To each of its tiers leads trail and through the raging torrents of water to bridge.

However, besides the waterfall Erawan National Park is, what to visit. There is also a waterfall and caves Phalun Phra Tat, Ta Duang and Mee, which are ancient rock paintings. The famous River Kwai also partly flows through the park Erawan.
