Guyengola - Indian settlement Mexicans who lived in what is now the state of Oaxaca. Ruins of the tower between the hill and the river of the same name. The name of the ancient city with Zapotec dialect means "big stone".

Guyengola built in the post-classical period (1350 - 1521 gg.), And was a fortress, defended by the Aztecs, who did not manage to grab it. When the Spanish invaded the city and evicted Zapotec, conquerors and so it is not settled, the city died out and turned into ruins.

Here were found the walls of various buildings, fragments of houses and golf ball, and the largest tomb "palace" with the remains of man-made ponds and outbuildings.

The largest tomb is located in a palace in the administrative center of the Zapotec fortress. Its camera is more than 9 meters in length and a little less than 2 meters wide. On either side of the central aisle, which is 1 meter wide, has two cameras.

Today excavated two large tombs, which are likely to include family burial places. The two tombs have front camera, which is under construction for the idols, and rear cameras for burial themselves. But there are other smaller tombs, were found among the walls of the fortifications, the remnants of houses. In the center of the ancient city once stood two pyramids - to the east and west, and the two areas, one below the other, arranged one above the other.
