The small village of Nova Rzhishe in Moravia known primarily his monastery. The town is small, cozy and very nemnogolyudny, but his name sounds pretty pretentious. Nova Rzhishe translated from Czech as "New Empire".
The monastery was originally a female: it was founded by nuns from the Order of premonstrantok in 1211. They ruled the abode of peace for centuries, until in the Czech Republic have not come difficult times, marked by the Hussite wars. In the years 1424-1425 the monastery was robbed several times, and then almost destroyed. Some of the nuns were able to escape, and the rest were forced to commit suicide to avoid falling into enemy hands. Those who managed to escape, some time later returned to rebuild the monastery. Finally, we came a time when the monastery is almost empty. The nuns have died, and the new novices live at the monastery did not want to. Last in the monastery premonstrantka sister died in 1641. To the holy abode not empty, it gave a few monks of the same order. So the monastery was male.
This situation persists today. During the Second World War a lot of monks got into concentration camps, where he returned a few. In the middle of the XX century the monastery was closed. He was returned to the monks in 1991. Now there live five priests, who alone managed to take over the farm, and guests lay. People come here not only pilgrims, seeking the advice of the Holy Fathers, but also many tourists who wish to explore the old monastery and be closer to God.
