Cathedral of the Holy Virgin - one of the architectural landmarks of the city of Vladivostok. The foundation of the temple was completed in May 1900, initiated its construction was made by the priest Alexander Ants. The cathedral was the second most important parish church in Vladivostok. The first was the Assumption Cathedral, ruthlessly demolished as Pokrovsky temple, under the Soviet regime. On holidays, the temple visited by thousands of Orthodox. The church had three entrances, lots of windows and a large central dome, making the temple fell a lot of light.

The consecration of the temple took place in September 1902 about the same time there was opened a parochial school. In 1923 the cemetery was closed, which was near the temple, and the building was soon handed over to the community Renovators. Then the temple was used as a clubhouse. In 1935, the church was blown up, and the place of the Pokrovsky cemetery decided to build a city park of culture and recreation. In 2004, Archbishop Veniamin of Vladivostok and Primorye during prayer together with the city clergy consecrated the beginning of the construction of the temple. The author of the project was made by a team of architects led by Alexander DNIIMF Kotljarova. Externally, the temple is made in the ancient style and is very similar to its predecessor's five-headed. The total area of ​​the temple reaches 600 square meters, and the height with the cross - 40 meters.

In 2007, the feast of Easter at the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin held the first liturgy.
