Cathedral of Santa Maria de Vigo is situated in the historic city of Vigo not far from the central city square. The building of the cathedral was built in the early 19th century on the site of the previously located here the old church of Santa Maria.

The first church building was erected in the 12th century, as evidenced by the documented facts.
