On the central square of the city of Togliatti is a memorial complex dedicated to the creators of the city. It is located on the site of a monument in honor of bookmarks builders, which has not built since 1977. In 1999, the idea of ​​the memorial sign newly revived urban planners, announced a competition for the best project. In 2000, a new project of the architectural complex "Creator of the city" was adopted.

Centre constructed complex is the sculpture of St. Nicholas, open and consecrated November 5, 2004. The sculpture on a pedestal of granite - four meters. Nicholas is depicted sitting on a rock in one hand and his Bible, he gives a different blessing.

The idea of ​​the monument "Creator of the city" is Togliatti A.I.Rukavishnikov sculptor selected for the image of the monument to the history of the local region. Since 1842, establishing the high altar of Nicholas the Wonderworker in the 55-meter bell tower at Holy Trinity Cathedral in the old town, considered the patron saint began to Stavropol (now the city of Togliatti).

Behind the monument in 2006, built a bell tower with a clock, thanks to which every hour over the central area of ​​the city spreads melodic chime.
