Tomb of the giants - the so-called tombs of the inhabitants of Sardinia, started in the middle of 2 - the middle of the 1st millennium BC and related nuragicheskomu period in the history of the island. Total number of such graves in Sardinia found about 300 pieces.

Tombs of the Giants consist of the burial chamber and lying on her tour - artificial constructions of conical shape made of stones. Sometimes there is also input in the form of a cup, and then the whole design has a distinct resemblance to the archaeological monument Court-cairn in Ireland.

Archeologists are two types of tombs of giants - tiled and beamed. In the first crude stone slabs, with one end buried in the ground nearby. The biggest - central - the stele up to 4 meters struck the entrance. Inside the tomb are clearly rectangular layout. Dimensions burial chambers range from 5 to 15 meters in length and 1 to 2 meters in height. After the construction of her tomb filled hill in the form of an inverted ship and near the entrance was set obelisk, which served as a god-parent, guardian of the dead rest. Similar tombs tile type can be seen in the town of Osona, Sortali, Lolgi and Peskaredda. And around the city Dorgali, Goron, and Santo Biatsu Codd Vecchio are better tiled tomb - they are processed and the central stele is rounded on top and has a picture on the front surface.

Another type of tombs of giants - beam - is found in areas bidist, Madau II, Selen II, Iloi and Moore Kuat. They differ from previous ones in that are built of hewn blocks of rectangular shape.

It is also worth noting that in its form and character of the structure of the tomb of the Sardinian giants are very similar to the megalithic temples of Malta - an explanation of this fact is not found.
