Kimi - a charming town in the eastern part of the beautiful Greek island of Evia (Euboea). It is located 87 km north-east of Halkida (capital of Evia). Port Kimi - Kimi Paralia - an important transportation hub and one of the largest artificial ports in Greece, provides regular ferry service to the island of Skyros.

In one version of the name Kimi was in honor of the ancient Greek city of the same name. Some ancient sources referred to as Kimi harbor famous ancient city of Eretria and Chalkis.

A descending like an amphitheater on the slopes of the picturesque green hill with a height of 200 m above sea level, Kimi offers panoramic views of breathtaking beauty. Kimi - the birthplace of the prominent Greek doctor Georgios Papanicolaou (1883-1962). His research laid the foundation for a new direction in cytology, and his method of diagnosis of cancer of the cervix was in his honor the name of the method of Papanicolaou or Pap test.
