Stavanger is the center of Norway's oil production, it is not surprising that there is open Norwegian Petroleum Museum. This modern and exciting interactive museum you can learn how oil is formed in the bowels of the earth, how it is mined and processed, for what purpose it is used and what place refining industry occupies in the life of Norwegian society. The museum is a gift shop where you can buy unusual gifts to their loved ones, as well as a cafe offering original daytime snacks and gourmet meals in the evening.

Stavanger once was a major center of fishing - it tells the world's only museum of canned food, which opened in a former canning factory.

In a large museum complex is located the Maritime Museum and the Historical Museum. In Stavanger, there is also a museum of printing and graphic communications museum, where everyone taught Morse code and the province of Rogaland Art Museum, which contains works by Norwegian artists XIX-XX centuries.
