Singapore Toy Museum - a truly unique place where not only the child, but any adult can plunge into the magical world of childhood and to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of many peoples.
The history of the museum began with a small collection of six year old boy by the name of Chang Yung Fa. By 2006, when the number of toys reached considerable size, Chang Jung, already at age 57, he decided to open a museum. The owner gave him an unusual name MINT - Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys, which translates as "the moment of fantasy and memories with toys."
MINT carefully planned building known Singaporean architects, and was built specifically for the exhibition of toys.
The extraordinary museum is that it has gathered more than 50 thousand copies of the toys. Some of them date back to the mid-19th century. The five-storey building you can find toys, imported from 25 countries, such as Bulgaria, USA, Germany, Australia, Italy, United Kingdom. The museum's collections filled up dolls and souvenirs depicting the heroes of Disney cartoons, toys from Japan's pre-war years, a rare Chinese dolls collection of comics from China of the 1920s. The museum visitors the opportunity to admire a large collection of stuffed teddy bears, and learn how the name of the toy is connected with US President Theodore Roosevelt.
In addition, the museum offers tours organizing celebrations for individuals. On the ground floor there is a cozy cafe, a restaurant with a varied menu and a wine bar.
