Xcaret (translated from the Mayan language - "little bay") - is a unique and most popular national park in Mexico, on the Caribbean coast of the country. It is located on the federal highway Cancun-Chetumal near the town of Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

In 1984, architect Miguel Quintana Pali bought a plot of land in the Riviera Maya, where he wanted to build his own house. However, preparing the ground, I stumbled upon a funnel cenotes (dips formed by falling in the vaults of limestone caves) and underground rivers.

Pali with his friends decided to open a park. So, in place of one of the Mayan ceremonial centers emerged Xcaret. This eco-archaeological park with monuments of ancient culture, the tropical nature and the animals that live almost in the wild, beautiful beaches and vibrant evening performance artists on the theme of the history of Mexico, which involved about 200 people.
