Church of St. Peter and St. Paul - one of the Catholic churches in Bern. The executive power in these churches belong to the Synodical Board consisting of 10 members. Its history begins in the 19th century, when in 1858 it was decided its construction. The building was built in six years, and by 1864 construction was completed. At that time, it was the first Catholic church in Bern since the time of the official announcement of the Canton of Bern Protestant. The church is located in close proximity to the local town hall.

Before the construction of the church was organized an international competition, which was held in France. This is a special competition among architects - the winner got the right to the design of the new building. They became Pierre Joseph Edward Depert, well-known architect, famous building designed by him through the Paris City Hall - Hôtel de Ville. The building was made in an unusual style that combines elements of Romanesque and Gothic.

The first service in the church dates back to November 13, 1864. In 1998, the choir was reconstructed and added some elements and paintings in the Art Nouveau style. The belfry of the church has three bells. In 1885, Friedrich Gollemom Lucerne was an organ. In the mid-20th century the instrument was restored and moved, but just in 2011, the restoration was repeated, and the instrument returned to its original place.

Today, the temple is the current parish church.
