Located on the mountain near Petra, and is the first and the largest at that time, the castle of the Crusaders in Transjordan. At 150 km. south of Amman is Kerak (1142) - one of the best preserved and one of the largest castles of the Crusaders, the main stronghold in Transjordan. The huge fortress complex located at an altitude of 1000 m. Above sea level, is gradually "grow together" with the city buildings.
