Mykolaiv Regional Philharmonic was founded in 1937. Its activity Philharmonic beginning in 1938, in a room which is located at the intersection of St. Nicholas and the Soviet. As part of Mykolayiv Philharmonic worked brass band, symphony orchestra, theater miniatures, ballet ensemble and choir.

While touring on her stage concerts of Ensemble "Friendship", the artistic director is Honored Artist of the RSFSR, and the composer A. Bronevitsky, orchestra Oleg Lundstrem, laureate of international contests Yuriy Dranga (accordion), singer Mosconcert, Moscow Chamber Jazz Ensemble, "Cadence "Honored Artist of Russia Friedrich Lips, Honored Artist of Ukraine Alexander Gonobolina (violin), People's Artist of Estonia Mati Palm (vocals), Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra, the Azerbaijan Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Jewish theater" Shalom "and many others.

Within the walls of the city of Nikolayev Regional Philharmonic creative activity started such pop stars as Alexander Serov and Larisa Dolina, and famous composers Kim Breitburg, Igor Krutoy and others.

In 1984 the old building was completely destroyed by the Philharmonic and the new has not built until now. Today modern composition Philharmonic, having its concert hall, forced to work in different concert venues of the city and the region. Due to the lack of professional administration premises of the regional philharmonic society, unfortunately, does not have the possibility to invite guest performers, artists who were able to used to decorate the life of the inhabitants of the city.
