Church of St. Stephen was built in the XI century and was originally dedicated in honor of the Virgin. Also, the temple is also called the New Metropolis. In 1599, the church is decorated with a magnificent carved iconostasis. Well-preserved to this day as the bishop's throne and the chair of the Bulgarian Renaissance. Frescoes were lost, the existing paintings dated XVI -XVIII centuries. Here shown more than a thousand different shapes in the center of which is the image of Our Lady. On the facade of the church you can see a picture of the Last Judgment.
